Greenvolt Next Portugal is implementing decentralised energy generation solutions across five Casa Relvas facilities in the Alentejo region.
The projects, led by Greenvolt Next Portugal, include the installation of 1,586 solar production modules, with a combined capacity of 863.75 kWp.
Total annual energy production will reach approximately 1.3 GWh, avoiding the emission of 586 tonnes of CO₂ each year.
Greenvolt Next Portugal is installing five decentralised renewable energy generation units for Casa Relvas, located in the heart of Alentejo. The project portfolio includes facilities at Herdade da Pimenta, Herdade da Maneira Nova de Baixo and Logowines in the Évora district, as well as Planície de Verão and Herdade da Polina in the Beja district.
In total, 1,586 photovoltaic solar modules will be installed, with a combined capacity of 863.75 kWp, capable of generating 1.3 GWh of clean energy per year. Through these projects, Casa Relvas takes a decisive and tangible step in its sustainability strategy, reducing CO₂ emissions by around 586 tonnes annually.
“Alentejo offers natural conditions that are highly favourable to solar energy production, particularly through decentralised solutions like those Greenvolt Next will implement for Casa Relvas. When financial benefits are aligned with environmental and social impact – as is the case here – we create value not only for our partners but also for the communities and regions in which they operate. That’s something we’re particularly proud of,” said Pedro Carvalho, Managing Partner of Greenvolt Next Portugal.
Casa Relvas is a family-run company founded nearly 30 years ago in São Miguel de Machede, Redondo, by Alexandre Relvas. Over the years, the company has developed a diversified portfolio of brands that reflect its passion for and respect of the Alentejo region – spanning wines, olive oils and wine tourism experiences.
“We place great value on our connection to the land and to the Alentejo region, as they are essential to our activity. This partnership with Greenvolt Group represents a major step towards achieving our sustainability goals across all dimensions: social, environmental and economic,” said Nuno Franco, from Casa Relvas.
Distributed energy generation is one of the core growth pillars of Greenvolt Group, which continues to expand its pan-European self-consumption platform – now operating in 12 European countries and in Indonesia. The Group is also a global reference in the development of large-scale (utility-scale) projects – including wind, solar and battery storage – in 18 countries, and is one of the main players in the generation of renewable energy from sustainable biomass in both Portugal and the UK.
