Greenvolt Group, through Solarelit powered by Greenvolt, and Cimbali Group are expanding their 15-year partnership with the launch of a new decentralized renewable energy project in Venice.

This collaboration has already resulted in the installation of photovoltaic systems, with a total capacity of 800 kWp, avoiding 2,400 tons of CO2 emissions per year ,at the facilities of the iconic coffee machine manufacturer in Binasco (Milan) and Cappella Cantone (Cremona).

A new 230 kWp project is underway at the Dolo Site, supporting sustainable energy production at Cimbali Group’s facility in Venice, and further strengthening the partnership between Solarelit powered by Greenvolt and Cimbali Group.

Solarelit powered by Greenvolt, a company specializing in renewable energy and part of the Greenvolt Group, a global leader in the renewable energy sector, and Cimbali Group, an Italian multinational company specializing in the design and production of professional espresso machines and equipment dedicated to the coffee industry, are expanding their longstanding partnership with the launch of a new decentralized renewable energy project at the Dolo site. The new installation is currently underway, featuring 460 new photovoltaic modules and an installed capacity of 230 kWp, enabling the production of high-quality coffee machines and equipment in a more sustainable way at the Cimbali Group’s production facility in the province of Venice, where the Group operates since acquiring Keber in 2019.

The partnership, which began in 2010, has already resulted in the installation of photovoltaic systems at Cimbali Group’s facilities in Binasco (Milan) and Cappella Cantone (Cremona), with a combined capacity of nearly 800 kWp. These systems generate 3,700 MWh of energy across an area of 4,500 square meters, enabling the company to reduce its CO2 emissions by 2,400 tons per year.

In line with the European Union’s sustainability goals, Cimbali Group is committed to increasing its renewable energy use as part of a broader sustanability culture strategy. Currently, 54% of the group’s energy is sourced from renewables, 7% of which is self-generated. Cimbali has thoroughly analyzed Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, setting ambitious reduction targets to guide its sustainability efforts.

“Developing a new project with a leading company in its sector, such as the Cimbali Group, is a meaningful achievement for Greenvolt Group and reflects the trust placed in our distributed generation solutions and our ability to deliver,” says João Manso Neto. “The benefits of solar energy for self-consumption, both from a financial and environmental perspective, are becoming increasingly clear for businesses, and this is why we remain committed to expanding our pan-European platform for decentralized solutions, supporting decarbonization efforts, including those of global-scale companies like this one,” added the CEO of Greenvolt Group.

“We are proud of this longstanding collaboration and the strong ties we continue to deepen with such an iconic Italian company as the Cimbali Group, whose third project we are developing in the Venice region now brings our total installed capacity to over 1 MWp. Agreements like this, supported by Greenvolt’s international expertise in distributed generation, strengthen our leadership in the Italian decentralized renewable energy market, enabling businesses to produce, self-consume, and share clean energy, driving cost reductions and improving energy efficiency,” says Andrea Faini, CEO of Solarelit powered by Greenvolt.

“It has now been 15 years since we started collaborating with Solarelit powered by Greenvolt, with whom we have completed several projects, from the removal of asbestos at our buildings to the installation of photovoltaic systems and environmental redevelopment projects,” says Chiara Cardarola, Sustainability Manager of the Cimbali Group.

“It is certainly a partnership that has brought numerous benefits to our operations, reducing the Group’s reliance on non-renewable energy sources and improving our environmental impact. We hope to inspire other companies to follow our lead, relying on industry professionals to combine innovation and sustainability”

To meet the growing demand for self-generated energy, Solarelit powered by Greenvolt has recently launched new distributed generation solutions in Italy to empower local businesses to maximize renewable energy production and sharing. The new Distributed Energy Configuration, which includes Renewable Energy Communities (RECs), Self-Consumption Groups, and Individual Remote Self-Consumers, maximizes the use of locally generated renewable energy, enabling public sector entities and local communities to benefit from energy produced by photovoltaic systems, with virtual sharing models that maximize the use of locally generated renewable resources.
