Astellas Dublin operates a major pharmaceutical facility in Damastown, Dublin, with significant and consistent electricity demand driven by its specialist manufacturing operations, site infrastructure, and the need to maintain high standards of operational reliability.

As part of Astellas’ ongoing commitment to contributing to the sustainability of society through its business activities, the Dublin site is investing in renewable energy solution. Astellas Dublin Solar farm will reduce reliance on grid electricity, lower Scope 2 CO₂ emissions, and support a greener future.

2.2MWp ground-mounted solar farm at Astellas Damastown

Greenvolt Next delivered a 2.2MWp ground-mounted solar farm at the Astellas Damastown facility in Dublin.

The project was completed in just four months, with Greenvolt Next managing every stage of delivery, from concept and design through to installation and commissioning. Greenvolt Next continues to support the site through ongoing maintenance and performance reviews.

Astellas Dublin solar farm is now live and features 3,192 solar panels and five inverters. It supplies 27% of the site’s electricity needs and saves 310 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.

Designed with future growth in mind, Astellas Dublin Solar System can accommodate additional inverters and battery storage integration, allowing the facility to expand its renewable energy capacity as operational needs evolve.
