THE CHALLENGE
Delivering renewables within a live manufacturing environment
The project needed to reduce Scope 2 emissions while respecting pharmaceutical operations, reliability and compliance requirements.
SOLUTIONS
A system designed for current needs and future growth
Technical Solutions
Ground-mounted solar uses available space to supply renewable electricity directly to the facility.
Delivery model
Greenvolt Next coordinated the full project lifecycle.
Biodiversity
Reclaimed tree stumps became bug hotels, complemented by bat boxes and native Irish trees.
THE RESULTS
Renewable electricity supporting everyday operations
The operational solar farm supplies more than a quarter of site electricity needs, with estimated emissions savings of 310 tonnes annually.
”This project demonstrates how on-site solar can support the energy needs of pharmaceutical manufacturing. Working with Astellas Dublin, we delivered a system that supplies more than a quarter of the facility’s electricity needs, while creating scope for future expansion and battery storage. It is a significant step in supporting the site’s long-term decarbonisation ambitions.
