Amarenco
Scaling regional renewable energy generation with a combined installed capacity of 32MW
THE COMPANY
Amarenco, investing in long-term renewable energy infrastructure
Amarenco is an Irish-founded European renewable energy company focused on developing, financing and operating renewable energy infrastructure. With more than 200 employees across Europe, the company takes a long-term approach to solar development, combining renewable electricity generation with environmental regeneration and benefits for local communities.
As part of its continued investment in Ireland’s renewable energy infrastructure, Amarenco appointed Greenvolt Next to deliver a major portfolio of three large-scale solar farms across Co. Cork, located in Carrigaline, Cobh and Timoleague.
Together, the three projects will provide a combined installed capacity of 32MW, creating a significant new source of renewable electricity generation in the region. Once operational, the portfolio is expected to generate enough clean electricity to power approximately 38,000 homes each year.
THE PARTNERSHIP
A Partnership Built
for Long Term Impact
”We are delighted to announce our partnership with Amarenco that will see Greenvolt Next construct three major solar farm sites in Cork. Through the integration of state-of-the-art technology, Amarenco will benefit from considerable volumes of solar energy, helping it to lead the way in the green energy space.
Owen PowerCEO of Greenvolt Next Ireland
”A project of this scale meant we needed a partner with the vision, resources and expertise to complement our capabilities. Together with Greenvolt Next, we will deliver a project that sets a new benchmark for large-scale renewable energy development in Ireland. We look forward to working closely with the communities in each area in the years to come.
Declan CullinaneManaging Director of Amarenco
The partnership brings together Amarenco’s experience in developing and investing in renewable energy infrastructure with Greenvolt Next’s expertise in the engineering and construction of large-scale solar projects.
For a programme involving three simultaneous utility-scale developments, Amarenco required an EPC partner with the technical capability, resources and project delivery experience to manage construction across multiple locations.
Greenvolt Next is delivering that capability across Carrigaline, Cobh and Timoleague, translating Amarenco’s project requirements into three operational renewable energy assets. The programme demonstrates Greenvolt Next’s growing capability in the utility-scale renewable energy sector, combining the resources and expertise required to manage multiple major solar developments concurrently while maintaining consistent delivery standards across each project.
The 32MW portfolio represents an important milestone for both companies and demonstrates how developer and EPC expertise can work together to accelerate the delivery of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure in Ireland.

A 32MW
Three-Site Solar
Portfolio
Greenvolt Next is responsible for the implementation and delivery of the portfolio, managing construction across all three sites through to completion. coordinated construction of three separate large-scale solar farms across Cork:
Carrigaline Solar Farm
Carrigaline marked the beginning of the construction programme, with the official sod-turning ceremony taking place at the site in early 2026.
The project represents one of the three major developments that together form Amarenco’s 32MW Cork portfolio and will contribute significant new renewable electricity generation to the region.

Cobh Solar Farm
The Cobh development forms the second part of the three site programme. Greenvolt Next is responsible for delivering the project as part of the wider EPC contract, applying a consistent approach to construction, project management, quality and safety across the portfolio.
Currently in construction, once operational, the site will contribute to the combined renewable electricity output of the three Cork developments.
7.6 MW

Timoleague Solar Farm
The Timoleague solar farm completes Amarenco’s three-project Cork portfolio.
Together with Carrigaline and Cobh, the development will help expand utility-scale solar generation in Co. Cork while contributing towards Ireland’s transition to a more secure and renewable electricity system.

BIODIVERSITY & LAND MANAGEMENT
Renewable Energy with a Regenerative Approach
The developments have been designed to deliver benefits beyond renewable electricity generation.
Amarenco plans to introduce extensive ecological measures across Carrigaline, Cobh and Timoleague, including its ECHO soil health monitoring programme.
Working with local ecologists, soil samples will be assessed to understand the specific requirements of each site and identify measures that can help regenerate soil, increase biodiversity, improve water retention and strengthen the land’s ability to absorb carbon.
Importantly, the land used for the developments will remain in local ownership, helping safeguard its long-term use for future generations.
